Ingredients6 Med to large potatos, cubed into small bite size pieces
1/2 lb bacon chopped and cooked
1 lb hamburger cooked
1 pint Half and Half
1/2 to 1 cup frozen corn
1/5 cup celery
1/2 cup onion
Cook bacon in fry pan, remove bacon from pan, save some bacon grease to use to saute celery and onion in separate pan. Cook hamburger in fry pan used to cook bacon without washing it out.
In a separate sauce pan put chopped potatoes and add water to about 1/2 inch below top of taters. Bring toa boil and cook for 8 minutes. DO NOT DRAIN!!!
Add to cooked potatoes - bacon, hamburger, and sauteed onions and celery. Add half and half. cook basic white sauce and add to soup.
if soup is too thick you can add milk to thin.Serve with shredded cheddar cheese. ENJOY!!!
Makin a basic white sauce:
To make a basic white sauce, melt 2 tablespoons butter over low heat. When the foaming begins to subside stir in 2 tablespoons of flour.
cook the mixture, stirring almost constantly for about 5 minutes over low heat.
Stir in a cup of milk, adding it slowly, and in increments. Turn the heat to medium high.
Continue stirring the sauce until it begins to bubble and thicken
